Healthcare Leaders Gather to Discuss Revenue Cycle Best Practices

February 3, 2006

Healthcare business offices share common concerns such as reducing days outstanding, providing financial assistance to those who need it most, improving office efficiency, ensuring correct reimbursements from third-party payors and accurate reporting to identify potential problems. Ontario Systems will host a healthcare summit in Las Vegas on April 10-12 to share ideas with an eye toward discussing and improving these key business practices among leading providers.

The three-day conference will include formal presentations as well as round table discussions on topics such as financial assistance, pre-registration, self pay, telephony and payor follow up.

HCA's financial services management team will host the user review group. Attendees include industry leaders from diverse healthcare organizations.

"Healthcare organizations continue to face an uphill battle to provide quality care while receiving declining payments," said Tom Yoder, healthcare product director for Ontario Systems. "We are committed to providing the business office with tools to become more effective at increasing cash flow, thereby ultimately providing much needed resources to clinical areas."

A session on collection management and its impact on the revenue cycle will be presented by Dae Lee, senior director of The Advisory Board. "Healthcare organizations can and should take steps to improve their collections in order to provide a stable financial environment where patients can receive high-quality care," said Lee. "Business office managers have the ability to positively impact the entire organization in significant ways."

Healthcare organizations interested in attending should visit the Ontario Systems web site for more information.
