Ontario Systems Celebrates Nearly 40 Years of History and Community Impact

Company Hosts Evening Event to Honor Its Cofounders, Reflect on Its Journey, and Announce New Muncie Community Fund

MUNCIE, Ind. (November 14, 2019) – Ontario Systems, a leading provider of enterprise software that automates complex workflows and accelerates revenue recovery for clients in the healthcare, accounts receivable management (ARM), and government markets, hosted a community event at its Muncie headquarters Thursday evening to celebrate the company’s nearly 40-year history and announce a new community fund to help improve quality of life for area residents.

Members of Ontario Systems’ current company leadership, current and past employees, and members of the Muncie community gathered for the two-hour-long event to reminisce and reflect on Ontario Systems’ history, the important contributions of cofounders Wil Davis and Ron Fauquher, the company’s growth and success, and its close relationship with and commitment to the Muncie community.

“As we begin our 40th year in business, we’re grateful for this opportunity to bring together company leaders and employees, both past and present; Muncie community leaders; and our special guests, Wil Davis and Ron Fauquher,” said Casey Stanley, Vice President, Marketing and Business Development at Ontario Systems. “It’s amazing to look back at what we’ve accomplished as a company and in partnership with the community, and we’re excited about what’s to come.”

Event attendees were presented with a short program featuring a retrospective video as well as comments from a number of current and former company and community leaders. Among the first to speak was Kelly Stanley, former CEO of Ontario Systems’ former parent company, Ontario Corporation. A longtime community leader who also served as Ontario Systems chairman for many years, Stanley offered his perspective on Davis and Fauquher’s early years together in business and Ontario Systems’ 26-year partnership with Ontario Corporation.

“Wil and Ron’s vision, their values, and their commitment to their people formed the foundation for Ontario Systems’ sustained success,” said Kelly Stanley. “We at Ontario Corporation were honored to support Ontario Systems’ growth as the company matured and became a renowned industry leader, and it was my honor to come back today and help celebrate this big milestone in the company’s history.”

Also on hand to deliver remarks was Muncie community leader Steve Anderson, former chairman and CEO of First Merchants Bank; former director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago; and current chair of the George and Francis Ball Foundation. Having worked directly with Davis and Fauquher on a number of community initiatives including the Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County, Anderson shared his perspective about Ontario Systems’ impact and its cofounders’ legacy in the Muncie community.

“The story I’m here to tell is the impact of Ontario Systems’ success in our community and this part of Indiana, and that success has been stunning,” Anderson said. “The company’s formal statement of values puts it this way: ‘We give time and talent to making our home communities better.’ And they certainly have. On behalf of the community, we celebrate your success, we applaud your values, and we thank you because you are passionate people serving others and driving a strong economy.”

Jason Harrington, who recently replaced Fauquher as CEO, spoke briefly about the impact Fauquher and Davis had on his career. He also discussed Ontario Systems’ recent acquisition by New Mountain Capital, its future plans, and its continuing commitment to the Muncie community.

To the surprise of most in attendance, including Davis and Fauquher, Casey Stanley also unveiled the newly established “Ontario Systems–Wil Davis and Ron Fauquher Fund.” Established in honor of Ontario Systems’ cofounders, the unrestricted fund will reside with the Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County, with all charitable assets used to enhance quality of life for residents of Muncie and Delaware County. Ontario Systems’ seeding donation will be matched 1:1 by the Community Foundation.
“It’s a special night for us, because everyone in this room has had some kind of impact on us personally or professionally or in the community,” Fauquher said. “Forty years ago, we had a dream: to create a place to work where you can demonstrate your faith and profession . . a caring place for people and families who could have meaningful careers right here in Muncie, Indiana, and be all they could be. When we look back, it’s amazing that somewhere along the line, that happened—not because of us, but because of all the great people who joined us along the way . . . and made it happen.”

Ontario Systems Presents 2019 Hall of Fame Awards at Annual Customer Conference

Industry leaders and vendor partners honored for tech-fueled breakthroughs, contributions, and successes

MUNCIE, Ind. (September 5, 2019) – Ontario Systems, a leading provider of enterprise software that automates complex workflows and accelerates revenue recovery for clients in the healthcare, accounts receivable management (ARM), and government markets, presented its Hall of Fame awards last week at PowerUp, the company’s annual customer conference, in Coronado, California.

Every year since 2011, Ontario Systems has presented Hall of Fame awards to customers with outstanding records of achievement related to operational excellence, performance, and innovation. Last year, the company added an award category for vendor partner companies. Ontario Systems’ executive team selects Hall of Fame award winners from a pool of nominees identified by company employees. This year, Ontario Systems recognized winners in four categories: the healthcare (RCM) market, Justice Systems (JSI) and government (GOV) customers, the accounts receivable management industry (ARM), and vendor partners. The nine Hall of Fame award winners for 2019 were:

  • Charisse Jacobs, IT Support Leader/Patient Financial Services, Falck USA (RCM customer)
  • The Brookdale Senior Living team, led by Senior Vice President Mary Kay O’Dea (RCM customer)
  • Anh Tran, IT Director for the Superior Court of San Joaquin County, CA (JSI customer)
  • Marilyn Wood, Accounting Technician with the County of Santa Cruz, CA (GOV customer)
  • Richard Gassaway, Director of Data Management, Reporting, and Analysis for the Debt Management Services team, U.S. Bureau of Fiscal Services (Federal GOV customer)

  • Chris Taylor, Vice President of Operations, National Enterprise Systems (ARM customer)
  • Tony Coffman, Owner and Managing Partner, BridgeWorks (vendor partner)
  • Kyle Pretti, Senior Tech Specialist, TransUnion (vendor partner)

This year’s Hall of Fame award winners were nominated and chosen based upon a number of factors including innovative and strategic use of Ontario Systems products; tech-powered, results-oriented operations; active contributions to Ontario Systems’ product development; and industry leadership by way of growth, innovation, and/or service.

“The Hall of Fame awards come directly from our Ontario Systems and JSI staff members, who work with some of the most capable and successful individuals and teams on a daily basis,” said Jason Harrington, President and CEO of Ontario Systems. “Every nominee lifted up to the Hall of Fame selection committee is highly deserving, which makes our job extremely difficult. But we’re pleased to have had the opportunity to recognize these standard bearers for their hard work, ingenuity, and the transformational results they’ve been able to achieve.”

Ontario Systems also presented at PowerUp its annual Pinnacle Award to Shannon Dauchot, CEO of Parallon Revenue Cycle Point Solutions (RCPS), for her distinguished career in the healthcare collection industry and her successful efforts to enhance revenue cycle management.

“Our award winners are deeply committed to driving progress in their organizations and industries,” said Jason Harrington, President and CEO of Ontario Systems. “They also help Ontario Systems develop and refine products and solutions that enable many of our customers to overcome barriers to success. The hard work these award recipients are doing is incredibly important, and the impact they’re making goes well beyond their own organizations.”

Parallon RCPS CEO Shannon Dauchot Receives Ontario Systems’ 2019 Pinnacle Award

Parallon RCPS CEO Shannon Dauchot Receives Ontario Systems’ 2019 Pinnacle Award

Dauchot honored at the company’s annual PowerUp customer conference

CORONADO, Calif. (August 28, 2019) – Ontario Systems, a leading provider of enterprise software that automates operations and improves revenue recovery for clients in the healthcare, accounts receivable management (ARM), and government markets, presented its fifth annual Pinnacle Award to Parallon Revenue Cycle Point Solutions (RCPS) CEO Shannon Dauchot during a general session at PowerUp, Ontario Systems’ annual customer conference.

Ontario Systems’ Pinnacle Award recognizes individuals from among the company’s customers and valued partners who have made significant achievements in innovation, technology, and leadership over the course of their career. Dauchot received this year’s Pinnacle Award based on the professional achievements and growth she has achieved in the 15 years her organization and Ontario Systems have worked in partnership.

“Shannon is an accomplished leader, innovator, and visionary, and we are thankful for the opportunity to work with her,” said Jason Harrington, President and CEO of Ontario Systems. “Throughout Shannon’s distinguished two-decade career in various healthcare finance leadership positions, she has greatly influenced and advanced the collections industry as a whole.”

Prior to serving as CEO of Parallon RCPS, where she is responsible for driving innovation and growth and ensuring world-class customer service for Parallon’s clients and their patients, Dauchot also served as CFO of the Tampa Bay Shared Service Center, COO of the Shared Services Division, and both SVP of Client Relations and Regional CEO of a Shared Service Center that served a $3 billion, 22-hospital health system.

In 2018, Dauchot was recognized by ACA International as one of the “20 Most Powerful Women in Collections,” and Becker’s Hospital Review included her on its list of “Female Vendor RCM Leaders to Know.” Under Dauchot’s tenure at Parallon RCPS, the organization has been ranked among the “Best Places to Work in Collections” (insideARM, 2019) and achieved excellent financial results.

“I’ve worked with Shannon for nearly five years at Parallon,” said Tom Yoesle, Chief Experience Officer at RCPS. “Even before joining her team, I had a deep respect for the culture she had cultivated. At the core of our RCM business is our people, who drive great outcomes for our clients and our patients. This rang true one day during a lengthy discussion with some industry leaders about all we were doing with technology, process improvement, infrastructure, and employee engagement. Someone asked, ‘What are you doing that really matters?” Shannon didn’t miss a beat and said, ‘Everything we do matters.’”

Ontario Systems Announces Investment from New Mountain Capital

Leading Investment Firm Poised to Help Software Provider Achieve Next Level of Growth

MUNCIE, Ind. (August 22, 2019) – Ontario Systems (“Ontario”, or “the Company”), a leading provider of enterprise software that automates complex workflows and accelerates revenue recovery for clients in the healthcare, accounts receivable management (ARM), and government markets, has entered into a definitive agreement to partner with New York-based New Mountain Capital, a leading growth-oriented investment firm with over $20 billion in assets under management. With its purchase of a majority share in Ontario Systems, New Mountain Capital will replace Arlington Capital Partners as the Company’s largest investor. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1980, Ontario Systems has nearly 500 employees in 28 states and serves its customers from its headquarters in Muncie, IN, and additional offices in Vancouver, WA, and Albuquerque, NM. Ontario Systems counts among its customers 600+ hospitals—including five of the 15 largest hospital networks—that actively manage over $40 billion in receivables collectively, as well as eight of the 10 largest ARM companies and more than 600 federal, state, and municipal government clients in the U.S. Together, Ontario Systems’ customers handle more than $170 billion in payments annually. In recent years, Ontario Systems has enjoyed record revenues, profitability, and growth by helping clients simplify their operations, lower costs, and recover more revenue.

“This is an exciting time in Ontario’s history, and partnering with New Mountain Capital is a natural step in our progression as we continue to execute on company-wide strategic initiatives,” said Jason Harrington, President of Ontario Systems. “The New Mountain team’s expertise in growing software businesses will be invaluable as we look to deepen our revenue cycle management (RCM) offerings and continue providing our customers market-leading solutions they have come to trust. Building on the momentum of this transaction, I look forward to working closely with New Mountain to unlock unique growth opportunities.”

“Ontario exemplifies New Mountain’s longstanding investment thesis of backing best-of-breed solutions providers addressing critical pain points in revenue recovery and workflow management,” said Matt Holt, Managing Director and Deputy Head of Private Equity at New Mountain Capital. “We look forward to supporting Ontario’s continued growth by identifying both organic and inorganic initiatives to help the Company realize its full potential.”

“In an effort to better serve our own teams and customers and keep pace with available technology, our business continuously evolves, but some things remain the same,” said Casey Stanley, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Ontario Systems. “Our existing strategy of investing in and around Muncie, as well as our other locations, remains unchanged—as does our focus on our people, our customers, and our communities. We look forward to our new relationship with New Mountain Capital and where we can go together.”

The transaction is expected to close on August 30, 2019. Law firm Ropes and Gray LLP acted as legal advisor to New Mountain. New York-based investment company Eir Partners served as an advisor on the transaction.

“Ontario Systems marks the fifth platform company collaboration between Eir Partners and New Mountain in less than four years. The value proposition at the customer level is simple – cash acceleration and improved employee experience and productivity,” said Brett Carlson, Founder and CEO of Eir Partners. “From this attractive starting point, we have built an accelerated growth and transformation strategy and look forward to partnering with Jason and the rest of the Company to execute on this plan.”

“Our relationship with Arlington Capital Partners has been outstanding,” said Ron Fauquher, CEO and Co-Founder of Ontario Systems. “With Arlington’s assistance, we have successfully expanded our healthcare-market footprint, entered government markets, doubled our revenues, and expanded our reach to include more than 1,200 clients. We are proud of our progress and achievement of the goals we had previously set, and we thank Arlington for their support in helping drive our strategic growth initiatives. As we take the next evolutionary step, we look forward to New Mountain Capital’s support and partnership.”

Sarasota County Florida Clerk and Comptroller Partners with Ontario Systems for High-Tech Transformation

Sarasota County Florida Clerk and Comptroller Partners with Ontario Systems for High-Tech Transformation

Sarasota’s Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller Selects RevQ+ to Increase Compliance with Court-Assessed Financial Obligations

MUNCIE, Ind. (August 8, 2019) – Ontario Systems, a leading provider of case management and enterprise revenue cycle management software to healthcare, accounts receivable management, and government markets, has partnered with the Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller of Sarasota County, Florida to implement technology to increase awareness and options available to those who must comply with court sanctioned financial obligations to pay a fine or fee.

Working closely with Ontario Systems’ government, legal, and software specialists, the Sarasota Clerk and Comptroller’s office will bring its customer service vision to life using Ontario Systems’ RevQ+® platform. The RevQ+ solution will provide multichannel communication options such as text and Interactive Voice Response (IVR) to remind customers of important compliance dates and commitments to avoid court sanctions consequences for failure to comply. The RevQ+ solution will also provide constituents with automated payment options, making it easier and more convenient to pay outstanding fines and fees.

“With RevQ+, we’ll be able to meet our constituents’ needs with the utmost efficiency, quality, and transparency. Some might even suggest that my office will be in a better position to incorporate a more nurturing approach to compliance,” says Karen E. Rushing, Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller of Sarasota County. “For example, just this past year my office received over 35,000 new case filings and approximately 52,000 civil citations. We expect that RevQ+ will provide us with the platform to automate the way we communicate with those who would benefit from hearing and understanding options that would keep their accounts from falling into a non-compliance status. We expect this vendor to automate functions and provide account management tools and give us what we need to proactively work with constituents instead of waiting until they have fallen deeper into despair.”

The RevQ+ solution, powered by Ontario Systems’ RevQ® technology, helps courts by automating collections functions to streamline workflows, lower administrative burdens and costs, improve constituent communications, and optimize revenue recovery.

“We look forward to helping the Sarasota County Clerk and Comptroller implement this change,” says Jay Moorman, Vice President and General Manager of State and Local Government Business at Ontario Systems. “We’ve seen how automation can help courts of all sizes deliver the type of service they envision with the resources they have. With the RevQ+ solution in place, Sarasota County will be in the forefront of offering a nurturing approach to compliance.”

Ontario Systems Announces Artiva Magnify™, Provides Solution for Greater Agent Productivity

Ontario Systems Announces Artiva Magnify™, Provides Solution for Greater Agent Productivity

Indiana-based enterprise software company continues to revolutionize revenue cycle operations

MUNCIE, Ind. – June 6, 2019 Ontario Systems, a leading software provider in the healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM) market, today announced the introduction of its new Artiva Magnify™ product, which is designed to solve the most pressing revenue cycle productivity challenges one agent at a time.

Market feedback and top consulting firms have identified that one of the biggest business challenges providers face today is rising labor costs and the efficient utilization of this important resource.  Left unchecked, business offices face increased caseload of patient accounts for agents and decreased time for managers to oversee operations.

“Healthcare finance leaders have made significant investment in people and EHR technology and recognize the efficient and effective use of these resources will drive success,” said Steve Scibetta, Vice President and General Manager of the healthcare division at Ontario Systems. “With today’s hiring and retention expense, we can’t simply throw more bodies at it to hit productivity goals. The Artiva Magnify product was specifically designed to complement the EHR, improve agent productivity, and provide unique business insight to help agents and supervisors recognize unproductive patterns and behaviors and resolve them. The Artiva Magnify solution will help providers get the most out of their existing EHR investment.”

The Artiva Magnify solution can be quickly deployed (in some cases in as little as 45 days) and comes equipped with tools to track productivity and measure time spent on and off accounts and provides detailed reports to managers. The solution increases agent productivity by monitoring effectiveness of payer calls and reducing time spent on hold.  Agent accountability and performance is improved through tools that monitor on-site verses work-from-home staff, manage agent quality reviews, and facilitate real-time coaching by supervisors.

In today’s competitive labor market, the Artiva Magnify solution offers providers the ability to maximize their investment in EHR platforms by improving agent accountability and productivity.  For more than 30 years Ontario Systems has been delivering collections solutions that impact the bottom line, and the Artiva Magnify product is the next step in that journey.

Leading revenue recovery software provider credits its talent credo and people for unique culture five years running

MUNCIE, Ind. (May 2, 2019)Ontario Systems, a leading provider of case management and enterprise revenue cycle management software to the healthcare, accounts receivable management, and government markets, has been ranked #17 on the Indiana Chamber of Commerce’s “Best Places to Work in Indiana” list in the large company category. This is the fifth year in a row Ontario Systems has been included in the Chamber’s rankings, once again crediting its staff and You-Powered Talent Credo for the honor.

“Being You-Powered means we support our associates in getting what they need, from their first contact during the hiring process throughout their career,” says Darla Brown, Ontario Systems Director, Talent Acquisition. “We empower them to use their voice, think outside the box, excel their career, and innovate in a fun, flexible, and collaborative environment. Though our people-centric culture has been a foundational principle from the beginning of our business, we hold the Best Places to Work designation in the highest regard because it is a direct reflection of how well we are doing in finding, engaging, and retaining our most important asset – our associates.”

All the Top 125 Best Places to Work in Indiana companies were honored at a celebration dinner on April 30, 2019, at the Indiana Convention Center, with the Chamber selecting winners from four categories: small companies of between 15 and 74 U.S. employees; medium companies of between 75 and 249 U.S. employees; large companies of between 250 and 999 U.S. employees; and major companies with 1,000 or more U.S. employees. Out-of-state parent companies were eligible to participate if at least 15 of their full-time employees are in Indiana.

“I am proud to be part of a team that values and lives our great culture every day,” says Jason Harrington, Ontario Systems President. “The recognition of that culture for five years in a row gives me a great sense of pride, especially considering it isn’t my opinion, but that of our team and how that compares to our peers.”

Details concerning the company’s unique culture are available at http://careers.ontariosystems.com, along with available positions. Associates within the organization help safeguard the credit industry, united in a shared belief that it maintains an economic engine driving opportunity and prosperity in the markets served by Ontario Systems customers.

“The employees create the culture at Ontario Systems, and that is what makes it a ‘best place to work’,” says Sheri Replin, Ontario Systems Marketing Project Manager. “Individuals are encouraged to use their voice, strive to improve, and be accountable to themselves and their associates—both within the company and the community.”

Ontario Systems partners BLASTmedia, Lessonly, and FirstPerson were also named by the Indiana Chamber, along with Muncie neighbors Accutech Systems Corporation and First Merchants Bank.

Los Angeles County Goes Live with RevQ® Software from Ontario Systems

Los Angeles County Goes Live with RevQ® Software from Ontario Systems

Largest U.S. county by population will use new receivables platform to collect more than $30 million annually

MUNCIE, Ind. (March 12, 2019) – Ontario Systems, a leading provider of case management and enterprise revenue cycle management software to the healthcare, accounts receivable management, and government markets, announced today that Los Angeles County – the largest U.S. county by population – has successfully converted to the Ontario Systems RevQ® solution. The County of Los Angeles Treasurer and Tax Collector and Probation Department is using the system to run its receivables operations and expects it will help to recover more than $30 million in delinquent account collections annually.

“The Treasurer provides a variety of services to Los Angeles County, including collections for the Department of Public Social Services related to Cal Fresh, CalWORKs, and General Relief overpayments, as well as the collection of delinquent debt owed to various County departments,” says Jay Moorman, Vice President and General Manager, Ontario Systems. “In addition, the Probation Department enforces financial orders of the Superior Court by collecting victim restitution, fines, and fees. Monthly, the Treasurer distributes approximately $284,000 in restitution payments alone to approximately 2,300 victims.”

The new system will help Los Angeles County address its growing business needs, while providing a platform based on current technology that will allow greater flexibility for future development and enhancements. The County will take advantage of many new features, including:

  • Automated work lists, workflows, correspondence, dialer, and outsourcer forwarding
  • Customized user screens and reports
  • Integrated skip tracing capabilities
  • Custom payment plans
  • Management of joint and several accounts

Los Angeles County selected these advantages in a competitive bid and expects the RevQ solution to simplify their collection processes, account for court-ordered debt, and realize a number of other key benefits.

The process of converting to the RevQ solution was successfully accomplished on-time and on-budget. Over 30 separate interfaces were developed for the County’s staff, with an additional 35 custom reports built for this project alone. Ultimately the system will house 2.6 million accounts and accommodate 200 separate users.

“Our clients who use the RevQ software have a much better idea of their efficacy, and how to adjust strategy and execution to meet important revenue recovery goals,” says Ontario Systems President Jason Harrington. “Local, county and state governments across the country use the technology to remove guesswork and collect efficiently on behalf of their constituencies. We’re proud to continue supporting organizations like Los Angeles County who define optimized government receivables. We look forward to seeing how they and our other customers continue using the RevQ software to improve public revenue recovery.”

Ontario Systems Named Employer of the Year by Indiana INTERNnet

Indiana INTERNnet recognizes outstanding interns, employers, and mentors at its 13th annual IMPACT Awards luncheon

MUNCIE, Ind. (March 5, 2019) – Indiana INTERNnet, an Indiana Chamber of Commerce program dedicated to facilitating and promoting experiential learning opportunities for the state’s future workforce, has named Ontario Systems Indiana’s (For-profit) Employer of the Year. Ontario Systems was chosen from among 16 nominees statewide in recognition of its outstanding internship program.

“It is such an honor to have been named Employer of The Year considering we were up against considerably larger companies,” says Shannon Stroud, Director, Enterprise Organizational Development & Learning at Ontario Systems. “For me, winning the award reinforces my belief that our program is among the best of the best. We work to develop the whole person by providing a breadth and depth of experiences and exposure while aligning them ‘real’ work. And, by working alongside other associates and contributing to our day-to-day activities, they bring a tremendous value to the organization while they are learning and growing.”

Ontario Systems’ 12-week internship program in 2018 hosted 20 interns. Each intern was assigned a dedicated manager and a dedicated onboarding partner. In addition to hands-on project work, interns received more than six hours of professional development training. They also had the opportunity to use eight hours of dedicated paid “volunteer” time to support a community cause.

“Our career-prep program is designed not only to strengthen our early career talent pipeline, but to nurture the personal and professional growth of each student by immersing them into our company culture and sharing with them our values of stewardship and community,” said Darla Brown, Director, Talent Acquisition at Ontario Systems. “We’re proud to hire a significant number of interns from this program each year into part-time and full-time positions.”

Ontario Systems offers internships in a variety of areas including sales, marketing, software engineering, security and compliance, human resources, corporate services, strategy and data analytics, and desktop IT support for its summer intern program. The internship program has multiplied to five times its size since it formally began in 2013, with more than 30 interns joining the May 2019 program. About half of Ontario Systems interns become permanent employees.

“It was an honor to be nominated for Impact Awards Intern of the Year, but an even greater honor to work for INTERNnet’s 2018 Employer of the Year,” says Blake Matthews, Systems Analyst Intern at Ontario Systems. “Employer of the Year is an outstanding accomplishment, and the unified initiative from all employees to carry out the company’s mission, vision, and corporate values are what allowed Ontario Systems to achieve this.”

This year’s INTERNnet IMPACT Awards luncheon, held on February 26 at the Ritz Charles Ballrooms in Carmel, Ind. was sponsored by Ivy Tech Community College. Awards were presented to winners in seven categories and were chosen from among 110 nominees statewide. Ontario Systems Intern Blake Matthews was honored as one of 65 nominees for the College Intern of the Year Award.
